Champion Sports Bra Review

Finding the best sports bra can be a challenge. Not only does the fit have to be right but, for distance runners, getting the best running bra available is important in order to prevent chaffing. One bra that stands out above the rest both for quality and value is the Champion Sports Bra.

Champion Makes Affordable High Quality Sports Bras

Champion Sports bras tend to run a fair amount cheaper than other brands. However the quality is high. All Champion sports bras are made of wicking material, offer good support, and are consistently rated by users as very comfortable. Champion bras also have an excellent reputation as bras that will not chafe. This has certainly been my own personal experience. While almost every sports bra that I have tried has chafed me rather badly once I ran over 14 miles wearing it, my champion bras have only chafed me once I got past the 20 mile mark in warm weather, and even then the chafing was minimal.   Of course, aside from your sports bra choice use of a lubricant, such as body glide, will also help prevent chafing. It is nice, however, to be able to trust your bra to be able to wear comfortably without such aids.

Another bonus of Champion bras is that some models, such as the Champion Shiny Seamless Sports Bra, offer multiple colors, while many other top brand offer just a few basics, such as a black sports bra or while. So, if you always wanted a bright pink (pictured) or purple sports bra, Champion might be a place to look.

Below is our selection of the best sports bras from Champion at one of our preferred stores, Road Runner Sports, which often has the bras on sale. Champion bras can also be found at most major sporting goods stores and a limited selection of the bras can also often be found at some of the big box stores.

Amphipod Review

Amphipod makes a number of running belts and fuel belts that offer perfect storage solutions for either the casual or distance runner. While they focus on smaller pouches and storage, they also have fuel belts and larger pouches as well.

Amphipod Review

The Amphipod airflow micro-stretch is my personal favorite. The belt is incredibly light, easily adjustable and does not bounce or ride up. The real beauty of the Amphipod running belt though is its stretchy pouch. The pouch lays flat and is rather small when empty, but it stretches to the point where it can hold my iPhone, a Chapstick and several gels. For races, it is perfect as a gel holder, zipping open and closed easily and being flexible enough to hold good number of items. I have also attached a separate iPhone pouch to the belt before, and amphipod carries various extra pouches.

Amphipod Belts Stretch For Easy Carrying Of Items

For races, Amphipod carries versions of their belts that also have race number holders. I found that I could have used such a feature when I ran my last marathon and discovered that I had pinned by bib over my pouch. The fix, however, was easy, I simply turned the pouch to the side of my waist instead of directly in front. It is so light that where it rides makes very little different to me.
